What Can We Do?

>> DOWNLOAD THE PETITION PACKET HERE <<

As we have watched the events of the past months and even years in disbelief, we’ve been asking ourselves how we can effect change. The most power we hold as a community is to recall our elected representatives on the Board of Directors when they have acted negligently and/or when they have failed to uphold the duties and responsibilities to which they are obligated by way of their assigned positions. In general, an association’s membership has the authority to remove any or all directors with or without cause.

The executive committee is composed of elected board leaders and acts as a steering committee for the full board. Its main purpose is to facilitate decision-making between board meetings or in urgent and crisis circumstances. It has the power to act on behalf of the full board and is a steering committee for the board. It prioritizes issues for the full board to address, is responsible for overseeing board policies, and must ensure good governance practices.

A board of directors is the governing body of an organization. It ensures that the organization carries out its mission and achieves its objectives. It oversees the organization’s operations, sets policies, makes major decisions for the organization, and is legally responsible for the organization’s activities.

The executive committee’s power is not absolute. They must answer to the board and are bound by the board’s voting power and provisions of its organizing documents.

We believe that it is in our community’s best interest to recall the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Sudden Valley Community Association. Because of their displayed pattern of negligence and abuse of power, we that the best path forward is a fresh start and to achieve that, we seek to remove the following officers from the Board of Directors:

  • Andrew (AJ) Tischleder, President
  • Joshua Bowens, Vice President
  • Sonia Wold (AKA Sonia Voldt and/or Rush Vale), Secretary
  • Kim Harris, Treasurer

We hope that after reading through the vast list of concerns outlined on this website, you will come to the same conclusion and stand Sudden Valley STRONG with us.
